This week in tutoring we were not scheduled to see anyone and no one walked in for an appointment. While we were there we worked on the class assignment on homophones. Homophones are words that sound the same, but are spelled different and have different meanings. We chose several examples and started working on some example sentences to demonstrate their proper context. We also read that homophones can be words that are spelled the same, but have different meanings, like the word bear. In terms of writing assignments, however, this is not as important because it is far more likely someone will misuse homophones like altogether and all together.
