This was the first week of Writing Center tutoring. I was scheduled to tutor Monday from twelve thirty to one thirty. Unfortunately the person we were supposed to tutor did not show up. This is a common occurrence in winter, and this winter has been rough in terms of weather. When it is hard enough to get up and go to classes, people often skip their tutoring because it is above and beyond what they are supposed to do to pass the class. The fact that is was a slow week might also be because of the time in the semester – it is the clam before the storm. Exams, midterms, paper and speeches all seem to come in the same week, and the week before this one was just that. I expect that, if not next week, then the week after tutoring should get a lot busier.

Your experience at the ASC will help you understand the ebb and flow of tutoring this semester. Talking about economics in English class is something that does show how much everything connects. My goal is for you guys to think about all these different aspects of culture so that when your write about culture, you can do it from a well-rounded point of view. nw
